Tiivistelmä
Työstä palautuminen on monella tapaa uhattuna nykypäivän työelämässä, eikä vapaa-ajalla tapahtuva palautuminen välttämättä enää riitä palauttamaan työntekijää työn kuormituksesta.
In today’s working life the employee’s recovery from work is threatened in many ways. The recovery that happens during leisure time may not be enough to restore the employee from the everyday workload. Hence, it is necessary to add some restful moments between one’s working hours. One way to do this is to carry out relaxation exercises during the work day.
The purpose of this thesis was to find ways and solutions for the day-to-day recovery of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences’ personnel. The goal of the thesis was to provide the personnel with means and tools to help them learn to promote their own recovery during workdays and relaxation during breaks. The relaxation exercises of the thesis were tested by a pilot group and afterwards the participants provided feedback on the used methods and ideas on how the relaxation exercises work as a means for workday recovery. Based on the feedback from the pilot group, the most appropriate relaxation exercises were selected and recorded for the use of the university sports services.
The thesis was carried out as an exploratory research project related to the SataSport project managed by Satakunta University of Applied Sciences and funded by The Ministry of Education and Culture. It was a functional thesis consisting of three parts: a pilot group, recordings of relaxation exercises and a thesis report. In addition, survey-type questionnaires were conducted for the pilot group participants both before and after participating in the group.
As a result of the thesis, the awareness about the means of how to recover during working days increased for those who participated in the pilot group. In addition, the thesis's output will be utilized to contribute to the recovery of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences’ staff and students through relaxation recordings downloaded to the CampusMoWe App by the university sports services.
