The mobile games industry is growing very fast. Finland has proved to be very successful in this industry and is a country with a lot of knowledge about the subject. The purpose of this thesis is to map business models used for mobile games. This is done through a combination of theory obtained from sources of literature as well as research findings and knowledge from people with long-term experience in the industry. This thesis is limited to focusing only on business models that occur in Finland. The problem posed could be formulated into three different research questions, which include the most common business model used in Finland, which is most profitable and what future visions and risks are there. This thesis is a qualitative study, which means that the focus of the study is based on people's experiences of things or what their views are on reality. In this qualitative study the interest lies in describing, explaining and interpreting different business models for mobile games and by making differences clear. In this study, three different respondents were se-lected by the snowball sampling method, and through interviews data was collected and then transcribed. In the results of the study, each research question is treated separately so that the problem statement can be clearly answered. As a result, the free-to-play business model was used most today, and the Premium model has disappeared. In-App Purchases are the reason why free-to-play is so dominant right now, as it allows game developers to constantly release downloadable add-ons, which in turn keeps the players interested. By keeping the player interested and active, game developers can continue making money. There is a lot of risk with free-to-play, especially for small game developers. There is a lot of competition and starting costs can be very big. In the future, more and more free-to-play games and large companies are expected to dominate the market. There is a lot of speculation about where business models for mobile games are going because the industry is still so young and fast growing, but as of now it has proved to be optimal with some kind of free-to-play business model.
