Service networks are increasing in importance in international business whereas the risk management of those is still in its infancy. Service value provision is typically discussed only from the creation perspective rather than taking into account the risks involved, and how those are managed. In order to ensure the delivery of value, taking into account the risk management perspective is essential. To address this gap in the literature this study compares the differences in network connection importance between different roles and organizational levels in both service value creation and risk management of logistics sales services. Our findings suggest that understanding the characteristics and dynamics of network can provide crucial information for enabling efficient and effective implementation of value network.
