The arise and development of health-technology has heavily increased under the past 20 years all over the world. Health-technology has been introduced into the market as an assisting helping tool in healthcare to relieve the pressure that nurses are facing, in their growing workload and to adjust the care to be more providing to the patient’s needs.
The aim with this thesis is to find out what happens with ethics when health-technology is introduced into healthcare. The respondent thinks that both the patient´s and the nurse´s view should be taken in consideration in this thesis, to get a more comprehensive understanding how things are affected in nursing-activities and situations where they both participate and interact. The method used in this thesis is a literature review, where the respondent has looked closer into 8 articles previously published in scientific journals and other scientific books for the analysis. The respondent has search for answer for the research question; What happens with the presence of ethics when health-technology is involved in healthcare? In this thesis the theoretical framework is chosen, by the respondent to be the “theory of Ethics in caring “written by Katie Eriksson, and parts of Dorothea Orem´s “theory of selfcare” as Dorothea Orem sees it. In the result it appears that the 8 chosen articles previously published in scientific journals, that where found by using selected keywords, didn`t directly answer the research question. In the opinion of the respondent the articles together provide answers that covers the research question, and therefore the respondent continued the thesis with the original research question.
