This thesis deals with the older generation approach to digitization. The aim is to find out how the Swedish-speaking residents of Porvoo, who are between 65-80 years feels about the fact that information on events mostly is available via the Internet and how they feel Porvoo application services via their websites work. The problem today is that it can be difficult for companies to reach out with their information to the older generation who did not grow up with the Internet. People who regular goes to their events and gymnastic classes are interviewed. The survey was conducted through a semi-structured interview, but also of literature that supports the research. The literature provides insight into how the older generation uses the Internet, their attitudes, how a website should look but also Finland's digital agenda regarding the older generation. There was a total of five hand-picked people who participated in the qualitative survey. The result of this research shows that the older a person gets, the worse they feel about information primarily often are published online and that there is a generation difference within the older generation. “Porvoo sports services” have done a good job with publishing information on events and different gymnastic classes. The elderly prefers to get the information through radio or the newspapers. Regarding the notification service, we can also see a generation difference, the younger respondents found it quite easy while the older respondent found it harder. The Respondents came up with various ways on how they could develop the application services for the better, for example, could be good with a separate tab targeted for the seniors on the homepage.
