I femte kapitlet utvärderas slutligen hela processen. Originating from personal interest, a thorough documentation of how to produce an in-game movie in the simulation computer game The Sims 2 has been executed, with a video project created during the process as the end product. Since the subject is relatively unexplored, the thesis relies mostly on observations done by the author, but some printed sources are included as well. In the first main chapter, the game and how it can be used to dramatize a story, is presented. The thesis is limited to include only the game The Sims 2 and gameplay that directly relates to moviemaking in the game. The other games in the same game series are not mentioned otherwise than briefly. In the second chapter, the dramaturgical conditions for a successful movie production are listed, which in many aspects correspond to the course of action in the making of a real movie. Also the relevant storytelling features in a movie are reviewed. Limitations within the animations in the game dictate the film genre slightly, and that is why a music video is considered a suitable and feasible movie project to create. The third chapter includes what settings and code to modify in the game for the conditions before the recording to be ideal. The fourth chapter is about creating suitable actors and scenery in the game. Here the practical process of it is described, including what special measures were taken, like the use of cheat codes, to achieve the best result possible. Also aspects like greenscreen and camera controls that are used to facilitate the work during postproduction are listed, as well as how to build up a movie in a video editing program in practice, using the different tools in the program. Finally, in the fifth chapter, the whole process is evaluated. Changes made in the original plan are reviewed, as well as how some problems that came up during the recording and postproduction stages were tackled.
