Tiivistelmä
The goal of the project was to build and commercialize a remote queuing system to reduce customers' queuing time at the service point. The product will allow customers to track their queue numbers without being physically present at the service point. The application was designed to be a web application so that there would be no platform limitation. Customers are able to use any internet accessible devices to monitor their queue numbers. Additionally, the service providers can benefit from offering a better service to their customers.
The project consisted of two development parts, a technical part and a business development part. For the technical part, the project used a websocket protocol to achieve real-time communication. The main programming languages used were PHP, Javascript and HTML5. For the business part, the Lean start-up method was used in this project. In addition, the business model also contained B2B and B2C.
The web application both on the server side and client side work properly. The business negotiations already have started with the ticket machine providers and several telecommunication operators. Moreover, the project joined the Business Model Competition in Finland where it was awarded the second prize, and in JA Start-up competition it won the first prize.
