Tiivistelmä
The purpose of writing this thesis is to explain how modern marketing and marketing solutions can help to develop the Kainuu region visibility in the European tourism environment. This thesis was commissioned by the IdeaVoima OY for the purpose of collecting more information about the tour-ism market and finding the solutions which were designed for promoting tourism related services.
This thesis is based on the Internet research about the marketing, analysis of the marketing theory textbooks and summarizing the marketing theory from the classes and cases from the studies in the KAMK. Theoretical research has also covered already existing marketing solutions of the tourism re-lated companies
The second part of the research method is based on the interview with the COB of IdeaVoima Jari Bergholm who have answered the question about the threats and barriers which are preventing to make the final version of the application and launch it to the market. .
The last research method is based on the experience of building the TravelApp. TravelApp is the ap-plication for the mobile phones and tablet PC’s. The main aim of this application is to promote the tourism related services for both domestic and foreign tourists in the Kainuu region.
The thesis was competed in February 2014 and it has resulted in :
-the research of the modern tourism related marketing solutions
-explanation what the benefit of running TravelApp in the marketing purposes of Kainuu region is .
-successfully developed the demonstration version of the TravelApp
-the process of operating the application and the marketing distribution chain for the application have been developed
