The purpose of this thesis is to study the effect of color analysis on a person’s appearance. I also want to highlight the importance of the light and dark shades in the different color seasons and how they can be adapted in styling. With my thesis I want to go deeper into the subject because of personal interest in the subject and to enable beauticians and other professionals to benefit from my work when it comes to color choices in their different areas.
The theoretical starting points contain facts about the four different color seasons and their light and dark shades. They give a simple explanation of how the different color seasons are divided. In the theoretical background the history of the color analysis and the mental impact of color are discussed. Color analysis with Beauty for all Seasons, styling and portrait photography were used as data collection methods and as data analysis method I chose picture analysis.
In the result presentation, four models of different color seasons and shades of light and darkness are presented in the form of two pictures per model. One “before” picture where the model is wearing the wrong color for their color season and one “after” picture where the model is wearing the right colors and shades of light and darkness. Picture analysis shows a clear difference between the before and after pictures and the study shows that there is a positive difference in wearing the right colors and shades of light and darkness according to the person’s own personal coloring
