Tiivistelmä
The topic of this Bachelor’s thesis is redesigning a multicultural website to promote immigrant’s integration in Finland. By redesigning the website immigrants will have the opportunity to get essential information’s that will enhance their integration into the Finnish society. This information variety includes institutions made for immigrants, social amenities, and the legislations concerning immigrants in the Finnish society. There are different tools used in reconstructing the website but the evident ones are Photoshop, hypertext markup language and dreamweaver and pictures.. The hypertext markup language represents the text on the website after it is redesigned. The pictures were part of the website design process. The theoretical aspect of this thesis work includes electronic media and immigrant’s integration, cultural perspective and website and internet. Process evaluation was used in evaluating this thesis work. The process evaluation looks at how the final product, which is the website was realized.
The outcome of the project includes production of more contents pages. The website is more informative than the previous website. The new website has welcome notes from 12 different languages aimed at attracting people from different ethnic background. There is also information on the basics of the public services in the Finnish society. The association will gain more from the renewed website because it tells more about the association services and its future plans. In addition, web visitors will access the basic social amenities within the society.
