Abstract
Rakennusalan työn tuottavuus on heikkoa, mutta sitä voidaan tehostaa huomattavasti parantamalla tietomallien tietosisältöä ja sitä kautta edistää niiden käytettävyyttä rakennushankkeen eri toiminnoissa. Kun tietosisältö on vakioitu, kaikki hankkeen osapuolet ymmärtävät tietomallien hyödyntämismahdollisuudet ja projektin työskentelymenetelmät tukevat tietomallintamisen luonnetta, työn tuottavuus paranee huomattavasti. Tämän työn tavoitteena oli selvittää, miten kohdeyritys YIT voi parantaa suunnittelutiedon virtaamista asuinrakentamisen prosessissaan. Työn kirjallisuuskatsauksessa perehdytään tietomallinnusta tukeviin projektityöskentelymenetelmiin, asuntorakentamisen suunnitteluprosessiin, tietomallintamisen nykytilaan ja mahdollisuuksiin sekä tietomallitiedon käytännön vakiointimenetelmiin eli rakentamisen nimikkeistöihin. Työn empiirisessä osassa tutkittiin kohdeyrityksen kehitystoimintaa aihe-alueen osalta sekä kerättiin tietoa valikoiduilla menetelmillä jatkokehityksen toivotusta suunnasta. Työn kirjallisuuskatsauksen ja tutkimuksen tuloksena luotiin kohdeyritykselle alustavat tyyppitunnukset ovien ja ikkunoiden tietomalliobjekteille. Tunnusten ansiosta sekä tietomallitiedon luominen että hyödyntäminen helpottuvat ja tätä kautta kohdeyrityksen toiminta tehostuu. Tunnukset jatkavat osaltaan aiempaa kohdeyrityksen tietomallinnuksen vakiointityötä. Työn laajuus ei riitä käsittelemään tarkemmin edistyksellisen tietomallintamisen vaatimia projektityöskentelytapoja ja ymmärryksen lisäämistä tietomalleihin liittyen, mutta nämä ovat keskeisiä tekijöitä kokonaisvaltaisessa suunnittelutiedon virtauttamisessa. Tietomallintaminen muuttaa konservatiivisen rakennusalan dynamiikkaa ja uudet työskentelytavat, osallistaminen ja avoimuus ovat kriteerejä teknologisen edistyksen hyödyntämiseksi.The productivity of construction industry is low, but it can be increased by improving the information content of building information models and thus advance their usability in different functions in construction projects. When the information content is standardized, all stakeholders in the project understand the benefits of BIM and the working methods of the project support the nature of BIM, productivity will increase substantially. The aim of this study was to investigate, how the case company YIT can improve the flow of design information in its housing process. In the literature review of the study, project work methods supporting BIM, housing design process, the current state and possibilities of BIM and practical standardizing methods of information by construction classification systems are introduced. In the empirical part of the study, case company’s research and development of the field of study was studied and in-formation about the next step of development was gathered by selected methods. The literature review and the empirical part of the study resulted the creation of tentative type IDs for the window and door BIM objects of the case company. The type IDs will ease the creation and exploitation of BIM information and thus the operation of the case company will intensify. The type ID development continues earlier BIM standardization development of the case company. The scope of this study does not cover project work methods required by advanced BIM design nor increasing BIM knowledge more closely, however, these are essential factors when increasing comprehensively the flow of design information. The utilization of BIM changes the dynamics of the conservative construction industry and new work methods, inclusion of stakeholders and openness are criteria for utilizing the technological advancement.Description
