DIG4LIFE – Digital for Literacy and Future Education is an ERASMUS+ project that aims to conduct action research towards establishing ideal circumstances for exchanging teaching methods and techniques on digital skills through the introduction and promotion of innovative tools such as simulations and gamified digital environments. This is realized in a DIG4LIFE Serious Game, in which students can practice and learn digital skills in a safe game environment.

As partners of the project, we had an opportunity to visit Klaipeda, Lithuania, and are happy to share our experience with you. It was such a beautiful and welcoming city, and we had a wonderful time exploring all that it had to offer.

One of the main reasons for our visit was to attend the 6th project meeting, which was held on Thursday 8.2.2023. The meeting was very productive, and we made some great progress on finalizing our project. It was very inspiring to work with such a dedicated team, and we feel confident that we will be able to achieve our goals.

But the best part of the trip was yet to come. On Friday 9.2.2023, we attended the DIG4LIFE Final Conference, which was attended by over 300 teachers. It was amazing to see so many passionate educators come together to learn and share their experiences. The presentations about serious gaming were informative and engaging, and we were left feeling inspired and energized.
Our hosts from Klaipeda University were also incredibly hospitable, and they showed us some really interesting places around the city. We had the opportunity to visit the old town, which is full of history and charm, and some of us went to the beach, which was stunning even in the winter.

As much as we enjoyed our time in Klaipeda, it’s with mixed emotions that we acknowledge that our project is about to come to an end. But we feel confident that we have made a lasting impact, and that the work we have done will continue to benefit educators and students also in the future.

Overall, we had an amazing experience in Klaipeda, and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a beautiful and welcoming city to visit. And if you have the opportunity to work on a ERASMUS+ project like DIG4LIFE, we would encourage you to take it. It’s an incredible opportunity to make a real difference in the world.

We are now at the last stages of our project. The final analysis of the testing phase is about to be concluded and the dissemination activities have begun. Currently we are creating a manual about the project and the game. We are also building digital environments, in which teachers, students and others interested can play DIG4LIFE Serious Game. We cannot wait to release the game for everyone to play, so stay tuned!
