Abstract

The author reviews acollection of articles on Wittgenstein and modernism. The book highlightsespecially (but not exclusively) ways in which Wittgenstein in the 1920s, inthe Tractatus and elsewhere, tackles with Modernist ideas about the limits oflanguage, perhaps suggesting a way out via poetry. This is very much in linewith the self-understanding of Modernist authors of the time, but notnecessarily with Witthenstein’s later ideas about language.
