This study has explored how the acceptance of new technology can be supported through change management. The theoretical framework of this study consists of the technology acceptance models: TAM, TAM2 and TAM3 theories and the theory of change management.
The study was conducted as a qualitative case study and for this study has been interviewed five persons from an ICT organization. The study showed that change management can support the acceptance of new technologies. At different stages of the change process, the factors influencing the acceptance of new technology should be considered and discussed.
The most important observation of this study is that in the case organization the change process was planned and implemented at the general well. Based on the interviews, the focus of further development should be on the individual and team level. The process of change is continuous, and the study revealed that the acceptance of technology should be supported for a very long time even after the time of technology implementation. In addition, acceptance is influenced by the prevailing culture in the organization.
