• Laserviiva-anturi ±0,0011 mm
• Hitsauslangalla mittaus ±0,1521 mm
• Käsinmittaus ±0,0548 mm
• Robotin toistotarkkuus ±0,0085 mm This bachelor’s thesis explores the different measuring methods in use for industrial robots as a part of the DigRob-project, which aims to create methods and systems that will make automatic robot welding profitable also in small-lot production. This thesis examines different measuring methods used in robot welding and their operational principles by literature review. Additionally, this thesis tests the accuracies of the laser sensor, contact by weld wire, measuring by hand and robot repeatability experimentally.
The measuring methods addressed in the literature review are laser, acoustic, inductive, and contact methods. The laser and contact methods were found to be methods of high usability, which is why these methods were chosen for experimenting in LUT-University’s welding laboratory.
The results in the experimental section of this thesis found the following accuracies for the tested measuring methods and the repeatability of the robot used for the testing (accuracies as standard deviations):
• Laser line triangulator ±0,0011 mm
• Contact by weld wire ±0,1521 mm
• Measure by hand ±0,0548 mm
• Robot repeatability ±0,0085 mm
