Tutkimuksen kohdeyritys valmistaa kaikki tuotteensa tilaustyönä asiakkaan tarpeen mukaisesti. Kohdeyrityksen tavoitteena on lisätä automaatioastetta ohutseinämäisten putkituotteiden valmistuksessa, minkä vuoksi suunnitelmissa on investoida hitsausrobottisoluun.
Kohdeyrityksen tilanne huomioiden tämän tutkimuksen tavoite on selvittää tuotannon ohjauksen nykytila ohutseinämäisten putkituotteiden valmistuksen osalta sekä esittää kehitysehdotuksia tarvittavista muutoksista tuotannon ohjaukseen hitsausrobottisolun käyttöönoton yhteydessä.
Tulosten perusteella kohdeyrityksen tuotannon ohjaus ohutseinämäisten putkituotteiden valmistuksessa on nykyisellään toimiva.
This research has been carried out in collaboration with a company that manufactures metal products. The company manufactures all its products based on the needs of customers. The company aims to increase the degree of automation in the production line of thin-walled pipe products and therefore the company have plans to invest in a welding robot cell.
Considering the situation of the company, the goal of this research is to find out how the production control is carried out now in production line of thin-walled pipe products. Other goal is to present development ideas about the things that needs to be changed in production control after welding robot cell has been implemented to the production line. This research consists of two parts, which are the literature review and the empirical part. The literature review mainly discusses about production control, but issues related to production management are included also. The empirical part consists of interviews and measurement tests.
Results of the study are that currently there are no significant problems in production control regarding production line of thin-walled pipe products, but the planned investment will have effect on production control. There will be changes in manufacturing control but also in material flow. Because now production control is working efficiently, it is not reasonable to make big changes to production control. That is why suggested development ideas are focusing on small changes so the production control will work efficiently also after implementing the new investment.
The research also presents suggestions on how to use welding robot cell efficiently. Most of the development ideas about efficient use of welding robot cell are based on small changes that do not need investments. However, it is possible that the efficient use of the welding robot cell will require investments in either labor or equipment in the future.
