ABSTRACT:
In this Master´s thesis the different phases of implementing 5S Lean into the case company are reflected and planned. By implementing the 5S Lean method, the case company has a possibility to reduce time wasted caused by different processes, as well as creating a working environment, that makes planning and finalizing of working processes as simple as possible.
The purpose is to develop a tool that makes it possible to track the different phases of 5S Lean and that supports continuous improvement. The tool used for sustaining and following up the 5S Lean method will be a Balanced Scorecard. The Balanced Scorecard will be integrated with quality measures for tracking the 5S Lean method.
Finally, it can be noticed that when the 5S Lean method is integrated successfully with the Balanced Scorecard, a Quality Management System has been developed for the case company, called 5S QMS. Since the 5S Lean and the Balanced Scorecard are processes that are built on continuous improvement, the processes should be continuously developed to achieve maximum performance.
