In 2019, labour market training was attended on average by 19,400 students, which is 800 (4%) more than in 2018. During 2019, 49,200 new students began labour market training, representing a decrease of 600 on the year before. The number of those having completed the training totalled 36,500, i.e., 500 more than in 2018.
Of those entering labour market training, 53% were men and 47% women. A total of 6,000 of those having entered training, i.e., 12% of all entrants, were under 25 years of age. The share of over 50-year-olds was 20%.
Of those entering labour market training in 2019, some 72% were unemployed (excluding lay-offs); the corresponding figure for 2018 was 71%. The share of lay-offs was 2%, which is the same as in 2018. Of those who entered labour market training, 6% were people with disabilities or long-term illnesses. Foreign nationals entering training represented some 160 nationalities. The share of foreign nationals was 39%.
In 2019, the average duration of labour market training came to 4.5 months (4.0 months in 2018). The price of a student workday of labour market training acquired for 2019 averaged EUR 45.5, up EUR 9.5 on the previous year.
Of those having completed labour market training in 2019, 52% were employed for two months after the end of training. This is six percentage points less than in 2018.
