In 2017, labour market training was attended on average by 18,900 students, which is 1,800 (-9%) fewer than in 2016. During 2017, 55,700 new students began labour market training, representing an increase of 5,700 on the year before. The number of those having completed the training totalled 43,000, i.e. 4,400 more than in 2016.
Of those entering labour market training, 58% were men and 42% women. A total of 7,400 of those having entered training, i.e. 13% of all entrants, were under 25 years of age. The share of over 50-year-olds was 18%.
Of those entering labour market training in 2017, some 72% were unemployed (excluding lay-offs); the corresponding figure for 2016 was also 72%. The share of lay-offs was 2%, which is the same as in 2016. Of those who entered labour market training, 4% were people with disabilities or long-term illnesses. Foreign nationals entering training represented some 160 nationalities. The share of foreign nationals was 42%.
In 2017, the average duration of labour market training came to 4.4 months (4.9 months in 2016). The price of a student workday of labour market training acquired for 2017 averaged EUR 49.8, down EUR 1.7 on the previous year.
Of those having completed labour market training in 2017, 54% were employed for two months after the end of training. This is three percentage points more than in 2016.
