Tuloksissa analysoitiin kehitysehdotusten vaikuttavuutta suhteessa vaadittuun panokseen. Lisäksi kuvattiin tarkemmin kaizen-tapahtuman käyttöä työkaluna. Tulokset koottiin yritykselle ratkaisuehdotukseksi ja lisäksi annettiin suosituksia jatkotoimenpiteille, joita ovat muun muassa toimenpiteiden edelleen kehittäminen. The aim of this Master’s Thesis was to develop shipping process and warehouse management for the target company. Theoretical framework for thesis is lean philosophy and lean tools.
One of the main tool of the thesis was kaizen event. Event was organized with key persons of main departments related to process. The main task of the event was to define current state of the process with value stream mapping tool. Current state was used to identify the problems of the process. Process was analyzed also with using the 8 wastes of lean. After finding solutions to problems there was created the future state of the process.
The main solutions for problems was to develop information flow and communication between departments with new tools and instructions. There was also created a proposal for a new informative board to manage shipments in outbound warehouse.
The results were analyzed comparing development ideas to needed resources and input. Kaizen event was also described as a tool and what were the successes and challenges with the event. The results were combined together to final solution. There was also done a proposal for future development of the process.
