Tiivistelmä
Diplomityön tavoitteena oli kehittää junanvaunujen ja säiliörekkojen lastaus- sekä
purkupaikoilla käytettävästä Ensured Safety -putoamissuojasta modulaarinen tuoteperhe,
jonka avulla pystytään täyttämään useimmat asiakkaiden tarpeet sekä toteuttamaan
tuotteen toimitusketju kustannustehokkaasti.
Diplomityössä käytetyt tutkimusmetodit olivat putoamissuojan toimintorakenneanalyysi
modulaaristen ratkaisuvaihtoehtojen tunnistamiseksi, kriittisten osien tunnistaminen
modulaarisuuden tuomien hyötyjen maksimoimiseksi, puolistrukturoitu haastattelu
asiakaskohtaisten räätälöintitarpeiden selvittämiseksi ja päätöksentekoa tukevat tuotteen
kustannusrakenteen vertailulaskelmat. Toimintorakenneanalyysi perustuu Pahlin ja Beitzin
(1990, s. 92) esittämään teoriaan. Kriittisten osien tunnistaminen perustuu Lucasin DFAmetodiin.
Tutkimus rajattiin koskemaan vain putoamissuojan kehikon modulaarisuuden kehittämistä.
Kehikko on tuotteen modulaarisuuden kannalta kaikkein keskeisin komponentti ja
nykyisen kehikkomallin suunnittelu- ja valmistuskustannukset olivat tuotteen
kokonaisuuden kannalta kaikkein merkittävimmät. Työssä kehitettiin kaksi uutta,
erikokoista modulaarista kehikkomallia. Molemmissa tapauksissa kustannussäästöä
saatiin aiempiin kehikkomalleihin verrattuna n. 14-15 %. Modulaarisuuden kehittymisen
myötä tuotteen kilpailukyky on kasvanut nopeamman toimitusajan, paremman laadun ja
kustannussäästöistä johtuvan kilpailukykyisemmän hinnoittelun kautta.
Valitut tutkimusmetodit antavat hyvän pohjan tuotteen modulaarisen tuoteperheen
jatkokehitykselle. Tulokset ovat yleisellä tasolla hyödynnettävissä muissakin tuotteissa
kun tarkastellaan modulaarisuudella saavutettuja etuja. Tutkimuksen tulokset ovat hyvin
hyödynnettävissä, mahdollisten uusien putoamissuojamallien kehityksessä. The aim of this Master´s thesis was to develop an Ensured Safety fall protection family of
products, which is used in areas where vehicles or trains are loaded and unloaded. The
purpose of the Ensured Safety family of products is to fulfill most of the customers needs
and to accomplish the supply chain of the product cost-effectively.
The research methods were function structured analysis of the fall protection to recognize
the modular alternative solution and also recognize the critical parts to gain a maximum
profit using the modular, half structured interviews to find out the specific customer editing
needs and comparison calculation of the product´s cost structure to support the decision
making. The function structured analysis is based on Pahl´s and Beitz’s (1990, page 92)
theory. Recognizing the critical parts is based on Lucas`s DFA method.
The research was limited to concern the modular developing of the fall protection´s rack.
The rack is most crucial element of the product. The designing and manufacturing costs of
the current product were the most significant part of the whole manufacturing. Two new,
different sized modular rack models were developed in this thesis. In both cases costs
were 14-15% lower compared to the previous rack models. The modular developing of the
product has increased the competitivity of the product cause of a faster delivery time,
better quality and competitive pricing.
The chosen research methods give a solid base for the follow-up development of the
modular family of products. The results can be utilized in a general level in other products.
The results of the research can also be used on developing new fall protection models.
